Abstract
This paper presents CoBEA, a framework for evolving hardware designs through direct manipulation of FPGA bitstreams. The work represents an independent effort to perform bitstream-level evolution on modern FPGAs, complementing the Bitstream Evolution project's approach. CoBEA provides tools for genetic manipulation of circuit configurations at the bitstream level, enabling intrinsic evolutionary experiments.
